Honoring Our Dads

March 16, 2015
  • Today is a special day at Little Footprints Learning Center. Today we come to school on a Saturday to spend time with and honor our dads. We know Father’s Day on the calendar is actually in June but school is closed by then so we choose to celebrate the second Saturday of March every year.

Upon arriving at school, the children have the opportunity play in their favorite centers with their dads. What a special time this is for dads to have the opportunity to get a glimpse into their child’s life here at Little Footprints. And there is nothing better for a child than to show off a parent!

After play time, the children show their dads how well they clean up. Then together all participate in a short circle time. Circle time includes a few songs, the calendar and weather for the twos and threes. The fours also do a table paper with their dads as part of their circle time activity. I love watching the pride on the faces of the children as they are so proud to show Dad what they have learned. Of course, the dads couldn’t be prouder of their children.

After circle time, everyone lines up to go to the gym for an organized game. Yes, dads play too! Then we are off for a potty break and snack. The morning concludes after snack with a special song and gift for Dad.

Thank you to all our dads (and grandpas) for taking time out of your busy Saturday to spend this time with us!
