Farmer Chris from Quiver Farm came to LFLC and brought with him a chicken named Jill and a rooster named Jack along with twelve fertilized eggs! He explained to all the children how to be good farmers by turning the eggs three times a day and making sure that their incubator was warm and cozy. After the chicks hatch, he showed the children how to set up the brooder box for the chicks with a feeder, pine shavings, water and a light to help keep them warm. It’s hard work being a farmer but the children are ready and willing to do the job and to do it well. We are looking forward to hearing the chirping of twelve little chicks soon at LFLC!!
